My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet LUCY - this is one of the saddest stories. Lucy was rescued from a family who allowed their litter to live outside with no dog house and only one blanket since the day they were born. We all know how cold it was in December and January and one by one, the puppies died until only LUCY was left. The former owners admitted they rarely fed the dogs - only when they thought about it.

This 12 week old mini red female is literally skin over bones. We have never seen such a skinny dog and she was not expected to live when she arrived at a shelter. We were able to rescue her on the day she was to be euthanized and place her in our protective care. She has a beautiful face, is sweet and seems to be grateful for her 2nd chance.

When LUCY is strong enough, she will be ready to be adopted. We prefer she go to a home where someone is there most of the day as she needs a lot of TLC and a quiet atmosphere to recover, both physically and emotionally.

LUCY has had her first shots and when she is 5.5 months old, we will require that she be spayed as part of her adoption agreement.
