My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

** There is an application process and a $375 adoption fee. Please fill out the CTHDR Adoption Application. **

Flash is a gorgeous rough coat Border Collie. At 2 years of age, he is settled in his energy level and has the energy to play, but has an off switch too.
He will need about an hour of exercise that is walking or jogging with his person or perhaps doing a bit of agility or fetch. Flash tried agility jumps this past week and liked it after he figured out what we wanted him to do. Flash was nicknamed Houdini by his NC foster home-he can climb a 6'fence and figure his way out of many situations. He is a problem solver and needs someone who will keep up with him mentally. He had been owned by an older farmer and was allowed to roam a 100 acre farm at will. The man decided he could not deal with owning a dog any longer and Flash came into rescue. The funny thing is that Flash bonded to his foster Mom in a day and would rather be nearby than stray off. He is getting along with other dogs, but does have some herding play tendencies when playing with other dogs-he keeps bringing all of them all back to me!

Flash walks well on leash ad knows some basic obedience commands. Training will need to be continued in his new home. Flash rides well in the car although he can be nervous at times about new situations. He relies on his person for confidence and needs to be in controlled situations where he can gain confidence such as an obedience class or just walking with his person in new situations. This is a dog who loves to snuggle and will flip over for belly rubs. Flash will chase cats and won't be placed in a home with cats or small children. Children who are respectful of dogs and over the age of 8-10 should be fine. Flash is housetrained. crate trained, rides well in the car and is waiting for his very own family.

Flash is neutered, up to date on vaccines, Heartworm negative and on heartworm and flea tick prevention.
