Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Lucy is a pretty little girl, a one-year-old female black lab/pointer/pit bull mix who was rescued from
the Pasadena Humane Society. She was found tied up and abandoned all alone when the animal control came to pick her up. She was a total favorite at the shelter but after a few months she was out of time. Her only crime was that she is a black dog. They always get overlooked in the shelters especially in California, sadly.. Lucy is a really playful and soulful dog. She walks very well on leash and is completely non-reactive to other dogs barking at her while she walks
by. She met a big dog outside of a Petco and did really well and
just wanted to play with him after their sniffing introduction, then, she met a
poodle mix on one of her walks and again did really well even after
the poodle just ran up to her and started barking crazily, and she has met a
number of other dogs on walks around town with her foster mom. Lucy is
approximately 45lbs but should probably put on a couple of more
pounds. She is great with kids (see photo) and just loves to play with her squeaky and stuffed
toys! Lucy is a very smart dog and will surely become a star student in basic obedience group classes as well as eventually be an ideal candidate to pass her canine good citizenship test :) She aims to please and follows instructions really well. Lucy sleeps comfortably and happily in an appropriately sized crate and has not exhibited any separation anxiety. Her current foster mom
has been working with her on potty training (she's doing amazing) with daily regular walks
and positive reinforcement training. She would be ideal for a family who would love to spend time cuddling and playing with her...and include her in all their daily activities. There is also a $250 adoption fee for Lucy.
We have NOT had her around cats yet so we don't know if she is good with cats or not.
She is spayed, up to date with vaccines and micro chipped! Lucy needs a loving family to take her in and make her part of their family. Please email Denise at rescuinganimals@gmail.com for more info on precious girl, Lucy. She will be transferred from her foster home in CA to a foster home in WA the 2nd week of May.
