My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Here is........
Baby Boy, a silly name, but the one he was given. He has been in his current foster home since 3-5-14 and has been a work in progress. He was found as a baby by a gentleman who then bottle fed him and brought him to the Humane Society for vaccinations and rabies. He was then surrendered to the Humane Society on 2-14-14. His birthdate is 7/31/13 and weighs 6 1/2 lbs. He is a Domestic Longhair/Maine Coon and is black and white. For the first 2 weeks he pretty much hid all the time, but leaving him alone and not rushing him has helped him come out of his shell. He will still disappear when someone new comes in the house but other than that he is all over the place. He follows Foster Mom almost everywhere and is a very loving cat. Loves tummy rubs for a couple of minutes and then grabs your hands with his feet and teeth – but applies no pressure. He has never broken the skin – he is just playing. Baby Boy is what you would call and executive as he checks out everything in the house, closets, behind furniture, under beds – one of his favorite places. He also could be a personal assistant as he tries to help you on the computer – loves that keyboard, checks the pages on the book or paper you are trying to read. He is definitely a one person cat and tolerates others but is very attached to that one person. Due to his difficulty adjusting to new situations he will never go out to Petsmart but can be seen at my house anytime, or we can set up an appointment at Humane Society where he can be seen in a private, quiet room. We just do not want him to lose the confidence he has built up. It will take him 2 to 3 weeks to adjust to a new location so you will need to be patient with him. He gets along with our dog, a very energetic black lab mix, other cats and kittens – he just does not overly trust humans. But once he loves you – he will be with you all the time. He will be worth the time you spend letting him adjust. Oh, he loves peach yogurt!
