My name is Lady Kena and I am in a great foster home in Roanoke, VA until I can be adopted. I am a sweet, 3 to 5 year old, smaller black cocker girl with a natural tail. I came to rescue needing heartworm treatment and it took time to raise the funds, but I've now had my treatment done and I've had a good recovery. I was picked up as a stray by NC animal control quite a distance from this rescue and they found me to be shy, but friendly until we reached the shelter. It was a very scary experience for me, so I got stressed out and really scared. The staff asked for rescue help so that I could have a 2nd chance. On transport to the rescue,everyone learned that I am a real sweetheart and a happy girl.
At the rescue vet I was evaluated for my needs and they found that I was indeed heartworm positive and I also had a few issues that were treatable. I have now been through heartworm treatment and my recovery, so I am eager and ready to find my new forever home.
I am a very sweet girl, I have done well my vet visits, the groomer and I have been spayed.
These folks tell me that I will make someone very happy to adopt me because I am just a wonderful, very loving girl.....a real sweet cocker. I will be a great companion and a wonderful best friend for someone to spend time with and love.
