Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Patches is an incredibly energetic German Shepherd mix puppy. He’s been with our family for almost one week now. He was picked up as a stray near El Campo, TX and we are happy to foster him in our home.
Update 4/27: Patches visited the vet for the first time on 4/26 for a vaccination clinic. He did great! He met with plenty other dogs and people. He's still quite the baby, and after all the shots, micro-chipping, and general commotion, he just wanted to be held. He is so incredibly sweet. With the proper exercise, he is a great dog. He rides very well in the car, too. Crate training is going well after two weeks. What used to be all night crying has progressed to whining for about 10 minutes - then he settles down to sleep. I imagine in two more weeks, he will be happy as a clam. He is going to make some family very, very lucky.
Name: Patches
Age: 4 months
Gender: male
Weight: approx. 25 lbs.
Mix/Purebred: mix
Housetrained: working on it
Crate trained: working on it (getting better every day)
Heartworm Negative/Positive: Negative
Spayed/Neutered: Will be May 6th
Micro chipped: Yes
Good with other dogs: Yes
Good with cats: Yes
Good with children: Yes
Patches interacts very well with our two older dogs. Patches also plays nice with our cats. The cats keep Patches in his place by growling when he comes near, but otherwise Patches will just watch from a distance. Patches is in full puppy mode – teething and all – and wants to chew everything.
We’re working on basic commands and keeping things off the floor so he doesn’t chew up things he shouldn’t. Patches is a handsome, sweet, loving, puppy. After he learns a few more manners, he is going to make a great companion for a family. I think he would do well with a family with young kids since he is so full of energy.
