Here's what the humans have to say about me:
6/8/08 Louie is a doll - he's adjusting well to his foster home and can't wait to find his forever family!
5/5/08 Louie is done his heartworm treatment and is coming north to find his forever home. He isa very sweet dog that loves all! He is big but not bouncy- very gentle and kind. In fact he was passing out the dog bones to all the dogs that couldn't reach up onto the counter to help themselves!
4/8/08 Louie has started his heartworm treatment and is doing well! He is slim at 85 pounds so would be healthier at probably 90-95 pounds! Now we know why his nickname is Moose! He is really sweet and just a big love. He is very tall for a lab so may have some mix in him. He will be ready in month or so to come north and find his forever home- he's waited a long time- can you open your heart and home?
3/8/08 Louie has tested positive for heartworm - such a bummer after all his other troubles! We did find out news about his leg, though, thanks to a generous doggy angel for sponsoring his vet care! Louie has a partially torn achilles tendon and may not need further treatment. It may just mean he can operate at only 75% of his top speed when running, but that doesn't seem to slow him down much!
Please consider giving this boy the home he deserves once he's healthy and ready to travel!
2/8/08 Louie is a big cutie who was brought to the shelter with an old injury to a rear leg. We're not sure of the extent of the damage. He walks and runs with it but holds it up in the air when standing. It does not appear to hinder him but if he can get some sponsorship money he'll get a chance to see a vet. He is in our partner shelter in Arkansas at this time.
