Meet sweet Violet! This lovely girl was surrendered by her previous owner due to the owner's health issues. Violet wasn't getting the exercise she needs, and she does love her playtime.
Violet is housetrained and crate trained, and she willingly goes into her crate when told to Kennel. Of course, she likes being with her people much more! She loves to sit on a lap when watching TV and to snuggle with the teenagers in her foster home. She listens well and comes when called, but she needs to approach people on her own terms. Although Violet is timid and nervous around new people at first, she relaxes quickly and becomes quite attached to humans.
Violet is friendly to other dogs, but she does take a little time to warm up and find her place in the pack. Her previous owner says that she loves the dog park. She chases cats with persistence, so she will need a cat-free Forever Home.
Violet walks well on a leash with minimal to no pulling. She enjoys playing outside or just lounging in the sun. She knows basic commands such as Sit, Stay, Come, Drop it, Leave It, and Lie Down. It's obvious that she was well cared for and well trained by her previous owner. She loves her toys and her rawhide bones, but she doesn't like having her bone taken away, so her new family may want to work with her on the art of trading for a treat.
Violet is spayed and vaccinated. She did test positive for Lyme disease, but the vet said that no treatment is necessary as long as she has no symptoms.
Violet is a sweet, bubbly young Springer who would make a great pet for a family with children aged eight or older. If you have the time, energy, and love that this young lady needs, please contact her case managers to discuss this great girl.
Please note that an approved adoption application is the first step in a more thorough interview process that is designed to match each dog to exactly the right family, and that the final decision rests with the dog's case manager.
Please read the Adoption FAQ and get an Adoption Application approved before inquiring about Violet.
