Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Shorty, he's a 1 year old basset hound/rott/lab mix. Yes, people this can happen. Actually short legged dogs such as basset hounds have an extra gene and that's what contributes to their short little legs, so let’s be easy on Shorty. Momma was a basset hound and daddy was a rott/lab mix. I am told he's a funny guy that can be entertaining, in the shelter they said he'll do a bear impression. He gets up on his hind legs and waves his front paws for a treat. He loves people and other dogs but he does not like cats, so no cats please, chicken or ducks either, that's what got this boy in trouble chasing them at his previous home. Shorty weighs about 40 pounds so he's a stocky little low rider but he should not get much bigger he'll just put on weight as he matures, Basset hounds alone can weigh up to 60+ pounds. He has a shiny and soft medium length coat. Shorty is new to Rover Rescue so it's not known at this time if he's housetrained but I'll update his information as I know him better. UPDATE: After having Shorty a short time now I have found him to be a happy, playful guy. He is a little apprehensive of strangers at first but only because he's not sure if they are going to be friendly to him. He loves to play with the other dogs here and has appeared to be housetrained. Shorty loves to play with toys. He's an adorable and comical little fellow with tons of character. He has been neutered and is up to date on his vaccines. His adoption fee is $200.00 which also includes a microchip with the registration.
