Information:
Mattie is a sweet, affectionate, and highly adaptable Puggle. He is completely blind but does not let that slow him down a bit. Although he will bump into things occasionally, he quickly learned his new surroundings and within hours was even using my dog door on his own. After very little guidance, he was even navigating the stairs off the back porch on his own. Since then I have, however, installed a ramp to be safe.

Mattie is house trained but as I work very long shifts, he just can't be asked to hold it that long and the dog door is a good fit for him. He loves to go out and lay in the sun or listen to me as I work in the yard.

Mattie is a bit overweight, which we are working on, but he still wants to be a lap dog. He is always by my side or laying at my feet as I work or finish up chores and is quick to jump onto the couch and curl up with either myself or his doggie step-brothers.

Mattie is very mild mannered and gets along with dogs, cats, men and women. I have yet to introduce him to any children but he has such a calm temperament that I do not see him having any problems with kids.

He loves to be outside and walks well on the leash. He also rides calmly in the car, enjoying having the windows down. He'll follow my voice and knows basic commands. Soft toys seem to be a favorite and he will not give up until the stuffing is removed and the squeaker no longer works. He knows his toys/bones and has shown no interest in chewing on anything else.

Mattie was an owner surrender from a very loving home that had a difficult time parting with him, and the love and care that was put into him shows. He is well trained, socialized, and shows no aggression.

Mattie will make a great companion for any home ready to give him lots of love, which he will openly thank with plenty of kisses.
