We had to help tiny Vanessa Redgrave being a skinny runt and feed her expensive puppy milk substitute and protein powder to get her healthy and happy. Please do not send me emails complaining about her adoption fee cost because they will be ignored. We rarely get in pups this age and we know how much people are paying breeders so at least her adoption fee will help us help other homeless dogs here like always.
Vanessa Redgrave is named for her very active, alpha, bombshell personality, She is not even close to being housebroke and spayed being too young.
She is amazingly active like all Dachshund pups her age. So folks will need to being all dogs in their home to make sure they will handle an active pup who loves chewing on every dog she meets. She will chew everything if allowed and will be all teeth for the first year even with training but we can help you make sure she is a good girl and chewing on her stuff and not yours if you ask for free training advice.
Our requirements: You must know the breed and have Dachshunds already in the home or other small dogs for her to play with so she learns how to be a real dog. She will not be placed in an apartment or a home by herself because this breed was bred to run in packs. Plus you will need to have the time to housebreak and train an active, chewing pup.
I also want her placed locally in this area so we can follow up easier and make sure she is spayed between four and six months old. She had a delayed start being a skinny runt so she is way too small and immature to get her fixed now.
She will need a home with no cats, she is too active, and kids over age 12. She had a rough start and older children would know not to treat her as a stuffed toy.

Vanessa Tornado will not be ready to find a new home until early May or around 12 weeks old when she is off puppy milk and eating solid dog food. Vanessa has been wormed and will have all her puppy shots as needed for her age depending on when adopted if she will have two or three of her first puppy shots. She has received her first shots and will be on a schedule every three weeks until she is placed.
We will always help the new home with her for free information for a lifetime on shots, worming and training if they just ask.
I would hope she could come back to the rescue for our events after we saved her life.
