Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Emma, aka Emma May. This loving little girl will make someone a fantastic pet. She had heartworm, but has been treated and is feeling much better! She is such a sweet little girl. Emma is very shy at first, but she is coming out of her shell and loves to spend as much time as possible with her foster family.
She has been around younger children and seems to be OK with them, and also gets along well with cats and other dogs. Emma loves to spend time outside, but prefers if her foster mom or dad comes with her. She does not bark much, but if someone comes to the house, she sounds pretty ferocious. But she is shy enough that if they come in, she will back off. When she gets her “forever home” she will probably become much more confident and be protective. She is house trained and kennel trained, and has been working on walking on a leash. She is coming along really well with that! She understands the wait command which translates into sit/stay. Her foster family has also been teaching her how to play! She will need her new family to spend time working with her on her training, and her shyness.
Emma is so sweet and has so much potential, and will be awesome for anyone willing to work with her. She is only about one year old, so her new family will have many years to enjoy time with her.
This dog’s adoption fee is $225. Adopters must live within 150 miles or 3 hours drive of the Quad City area.
