Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Dexter is an adorable 24 pound Dachshund mix. He is potty trained with a doggie door, neutered, current on vaccinations and micro chipped. Dexter loves squeaky toys and small tennis balls. He will fetch them as long as you throw them!
Dexter is good in a crate for a few hours though he has proven in his foster home that he can be trusted, i.e. no destruction, fighting or marking. Decker regularly goes into his open crate to hang out.
Dexter enjoys playing with other dogs, female dogs are his favorite. He would also be happy as an only dog. He is an active, high energy dog and needs daily exercise and mental stimulation. Older kids would be best.
Dexter loves cuddling and being with people. He likes walks, runs and hikes. He walks well on a leash, stays right at your side and looks at you frequently. He knows the commands: Sit, Stay, Come, Down and is learning Leave It and Off.
Dexter is very smart, always smiling and making eye contact. He's eager to please and give love.
