Elton's Story...
Elton and John were picked up as strays and taken to a shelter with a high kill rate… then they were scooped up and their future suddenly looked much brighter! Shepherd mixes, Elton and John enjoy playing puppy games as they wait to meet their adoptive families. Elton and John will become great, loving family dogs that will give you life-long devotion.

Elton is an intelligent dog that should take well to basic training. A member of a working class dog breed, he will need daily exercise. Elton will form a close bond with you, and will always want to spend his time with you. Elton may not be able to sing to you, however; the two of you should make beautiful music together!

Meet Elton--and his brother John! Whatever happens, you can’t go wrong with either Elton or John! Please--don’t go breaking their hearts!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Elton, a Houston Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shepherd (Unknown Type) for sale in Houston, or seeking a Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shepherd (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Shepherd (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
