Here's what the humans have to say about me:
We've had a lot of super sweet/love bug and cool cats come through our system in the last six years, but this boy is totally special. And he needs a special home because he's Feline Leukemia positive (FeLV); FeLV+ cats OK. Note: There's no medication to give, just L-Lysine and Brewer's yeast (available in lots of places) twice a day in his food.
Smokey was an outside cat who a woman fed. Her brother asked us to take him when she suddenly died. We didn't know that he was positive until we took him to the vet.
He's got great energy and is very affectionate and should be with people who'll give him lots of attention and the run of the house. We believe this is key to his continued good health despite the Feline Leukemia. He's a very social cat and as such needs to be with people. Since Smokey lives separately from the other cats in his foster home, we think that he gets depressed sometimes because he can't be with them or his foster parent all the time. We need to place him as soon as possible so that his immune system doesn't suffer.
