Facts about Smokey

  • Breed: Russian Blue
  • Color: Gray Or Blue
  • Age: Adult
  • Sex: Male
  • ID#: Smokey
  • Hair: Short
We've had a lot of super sweet and cool cats come through our system in the last six years, but this boy is totally special. And he needs a special home because he's Feline Leukemia positive (FeLV); FeLV+ cats OK.

Smokey was an outside cat who a woman fed. Her brother asked us to take him when she suddenly died. We didn't know that he was positive until we took him to the vet.

He's got great energy and is very affectionate and should be with people who'll give him lots of attention and the run of the house. We believe this is key to his continued good health despite the Feline Leukemia. He's a very social cat and as such needs to be with people. Since Smokey lives separately from the other cats in his foster home, we think that he gets depressed sometimes because he can't be with them or his foster parent all the time. We need to place him as soon as possible so that his immune system doesn't suffer.
We require that you fill out our Companion Animal Guardian History, provide the names and phone numbers of the veterinarians you’ve used in the past five years, and have a home visit. We provide you with a photo copy of Somkey's medical record. His adoption fee is $150 which includes, but is not limited to, neuter, vaccinations, worming, Feline Leukemia/FIV/Heartworm blood test and microchip. We offer a 100% return guarantee.

About The Queenie Foundation, Inc.

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a humane education and rescue/adoption non profit all volunteer organization.

Our campaigns:
Spay/Neuter education
Cat rescue/adoption
Promoting a Vegan/Cruelty-free lifestyle
Compassion for Animals: focused at children and adolescents to interrupt the animal abuse/child abuse/adult violent behavior link.

Come Meet Our Pets...

You can meet our foster cats at the Manchester PetSmart seven days a week: Monday - Saturday, 9 - 9 and Sundays, 10 - 6. Please ask one of the managers to let you into the adoption center if there aren't any volunteers on duty.

Our Adoption Process...

The Queenie Foundation runs a cat rescue/adoption program in the greater Hartford, CT area. We believe that one way to stop overpopulation is to place animals only after they've been sterilized. Our fosters are fully vetted before they’re ready to go home. All you add is love!

Occasionally, The Queenie Foundation posts animals who are available for adoption through other organizations or individuals, as a courtesy. If you have found an animal in whom you are interested who is not a Queenie Foundation cat, we invite you to contact the group or person who appears in the body of the profile. They can tell you all you need to know about the animal.

Requirements for adopting a cat: You will fill out a Companion Animal Guardian History, provide the name and phone number of all the veterinarians you've used in the last five years for a reference plus agree to a home visit. Once you are approved, you sign an adoption contract and we provide you with a photocopy of the animal's health care records. Adoption fee is $150 which includes, but isn't limited to, spay or neuter, vaccinations, worming and microchip.
