My story

Meet Gustaf! Gustaf is a four year old Maine Coon mix boy looking for his forever home. Gustaf was found outside as a stray who was badly matted and scarred. Gustaf had to be shaved when he first came in to our shelter because of how tight the knots in his fur were. Gustaf now looks like a handsome “lion”, if you will. The person who found Gustaf believes that at one point he may have been owned and abandoned. Gustaf is a super loving cat. He loves when people pay attention to him, especially if food is involved. He’ll actually cry out when he sees people near him. Gustaf is also pretty laid back. Once he gets comfortable, he’ll make a great companion to sit and watch TV with. Gustaf doesn’t like to be alone very long because he’s just obsessed with people touching him and showing him attention. Gustaf is a great cat who has lived a long and hard life outdoors fighting for survival. It’s time for him to finally be able to relax and receive the love he has always deserved.

We Spay/Neuter all of our cats and they receive the necessary medical care including Rabies, Three Distemper vaccines, De-worming, De-fleaing, Microchipping, and Testing for Feline Leukemia/FIV.

Care for Animals is located at 2944 Post Rd. Warwick, RI 02886. You are welcome to visit during hospital hours. Our hours are Monday 8-7, Tuesday — Thursday 8-5 and Friday 9-3. We’re also happy to set up weekend appointments.
