Spuds's Story...
Meet Spuds, a sweet, humble 4 year old Aussie/Border Collie mix who stands knee high, now weighs 42 lbs. but we are working hard to get him to his proper weight of 30-35 lbs. Some humans were not very kind to him so he's a little shy at first but when he understands he is safe, he wants nothing more than to be petted and loved on. Spuds has been neutered, is UTD on shots, heartworm negative, dewormed and is on monthly flea preventative. He is also house trained, does well on or off leash and thinks it's a special treat to ride in the car. He gets along well with large or small dogs, is curious around cats but not at all aggressive. His favorite things to do are catch bugs, lay outside with his person and play with his toys. Spuds will bring joy to any person or family lucky enough to adopt him. Completed application and adoption fee of $100 required. If interested, email denise1028@embarqmail.com

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Spuds, a Hillsville Australian Shepherd/Border Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Shepherd/Border Collie for sale in Hillsville, or seeking a Australian Shepherd/Border Collie dog from a breeder in Hillsville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Hillsville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Hillsville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Shepherd/Border Collie breeders who help with Australian Shepherd/Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Hillsville paves the way for another one to be saved.
