My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Tallulah's come a long way in the last few months, but she still has a long way to go, and she's looking for a caring, forever owner to give her the help she needs.
Tallulah was found living in a warehouse, surviving on her wits, and what little food she could find, until she was caught in a trap.....baited with rat poison. This beautiful pup is about a year old and her weight is now over 40 pounds, though she's still a bit thin. However, we are pleased to report that this sweet girl has recovered from the poisoning and she even tested negative for heartworm disease.
Not surprisingly, considering her rough start in life, Tallulah is extremely shy and she still has much to learn about living in a real home. Tallulah never forgets a kindness though, and once you've earned her trust, she will want your constant companionship. That means she's likely to stay close by your side when you're at home, and she can become extremely anxious if left alone in an enclosed space for a long period. So, when you're away from home, Tallulah will need to stay in a secure yard with plenty of shelter.
Do you have the time and devotion needed to help this deserving pup come out of her shell? If so, please text Tallulah's foster mom at (225) 933-7572, for more information. All dogs adopted through Friends of the Animals are current on vaccinations, microchipped, and spayed or neutered prior to adoption.
