Hello all of you potential adopters out there! My name is Denny. Denny is my nickname with the ladies. They originally called me Dennison, but Denny for short. I knew I had done something wrong when I was a puppy when they used my fully name. DENNISON, what did you do to my slipper?? DENNISON, did you shred the paper?? Well, those were my irresponsible puppy days which I have totally outgrown. Shoes just don't taste as good as they used to (can I get some Odor Eaters over here??) and face it, once you shred the paper, you look like you are living in a gerbil house. So I have completely matured past my puppy stage and have just gone onto downright handsome, dog about town, Denny. And that pretty much is how I arrived at the rescue here where the ladies especially think I am handsome. I started out as a man about town. And I tried my luck at life on the streets until I realized that I wasn't eating the right food. I couldn't always find fresh water. And there weren't too many beds out there that weren't already taken. I got really thin and was just down and out on my luck. My luck would change when I was picked up by the local animal control officer and he brought me to this great rescue. The ladies here LOVE me. What's NOT to love, right? I was thin, but they fattened me up. I started getting shots so I would be healthier. I got neutered---they say it is for the best. I'm still working on that one. I had heart worms, but they treated me completely and now I only have to take my monthly preventative to keep from having heart worms, fleas/ticks, and parasites. YIKES! Glad that is over.
I am a Labrador retriever mix in a really pretty reddish/yellow color. I currently weigh 65 lbs. and that puts me at my adult size and weight. I am fully vetted and ready to travel anytime. I am good with other dogs and cats. I love little people too---you call them children. I am a strong guy being 65 lbs. so I might be a little big for very small children, but I love them just the same. While I was out on my own, without any real protection, these horrible biting flies chewed on the creases of my ears and I have no hair grown on those spots. But it is just in one crease on each ear. Otherwise, I am thoroughly handsome in every way. After you read all of this about me, I am hoping that you say, "That Denny is just the right dog for me". I want a home of my own really bad! Thank you for considering me.
