"Who wants to get adopted?"
"I do! I do!" Since Socks can't raise her hand, she is raising her ear and saying "Pick ME!"
Socks is a playful young female, who is full of life and is looking for a family to share a future with. She is friendly and playful with other dogs. She is also a very loyal girl who wants nothing more than to be with people. Socks would make a wonderful companion for a family with children because of her sweet and gentle nature as well as her desire to play!
Socks is a very smart girl who has already learned a few basic commands and is eager to please. Socks walks well on leash and would love to take long walks or runs with you!

Unless otherwise indicated, all Double Dog Rescue dogs have received the following before being available for adoption:
Thorough veterinary examination
All routine annual vaccinations, including Rabies, DHLPP, Bordatella (kkennel cough), Heartworm Test, Fecal Test, Deworming
Spay/Neuter
All dogs are quarantined for two weeks outside of the shelter (puppies four weeks) to ensure they don't break with disease.
If any dog shows any signs of disease or ailment, DDR vets the dog until he or she has a clean bill of health to the best of our knowledge. This includes anything from being treated for Heartworm, Broken Leg, Cherry Eye, Torn ACL, Upper Respiratory etc.)
NOTE: Dogs who were treated for Heartworm can test positive up to 4-6 months after last treatment. All dogs are immediately put on Heartguard/Ivermectin following the treatment to kill the Heartworm larvae. All dogs should be re-tested after 4 months from the last Heartworm treatment.
