My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Poco is an adorable little boy puppy, 3-4 months old. He looks like some kind of terrier mix, but also has some shepherd markings. As a bonus, his radar ears will warn you of low-flying aircraft! Though some of his photos make him look large, he is really pint-sized, weighing in at only 13 pounds. Of course, he still has some growing to do.

Poco is super sweet, happy-go-lucky, loves to be at your side seeking your affections. Based on the demeanor that we see in him, we believe he would make a good pet for a family with kids. If you're looking for a great dog....the folks at Wilmette Pet (his foster home) love him and tell us that he literally leaps into their arms when let out of his crate and proceeds to hug your arm and get as close as possible. In their words: He is beyond adorable.

Because of Poco's young age, he should go to a family with at least a part-time stay-at-home person to implement his housebreaking, general obedience and continue with his socialization. He will be ready for puppy school right after adoption. He is smart and ready to go!

You can meet Poco at Wilmette Pet Center, 625 Green Bay Road, anytime during store hours 7 days a week. (847-251-6750 www.wilmettepetcenter.com). Although you may want to adopt him on the spot, please know that you will have to go through the application process first.

Poco's estimated date of birth is 1/8/14 and his adoption fee of $325 includes: vet exam, DAPP (distemper combo) vaccination, bordetella vaccination, microchip, fecal exam, deworming and neuter.
