My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello! My name is Picasso. I am a gorgeous 20 year old Lesser Sulphur Crested Cockatoo. I am playful, mischievous, and entertaining! I love to learn and show off – I can even unlock cage doors! I am also an indiscriminate lover – if you are willing to give the time, I am willing to give it right back! I do need someone that has a lot of time to give me though, because - as most cockatoos, I am very demanding of your time and attention. I did used to pluck but stopped about 10 years ago. I do have this very little bare patch down in the front of my belly, but I have learned how to groom myself to cover it up so it is not very obvious (my foster Mom calls it a birdy comb over, lol!). I also like to talk, I can say “Good morning, Picasso”, “Picasso is being a good boy?” and “Baby”. I know how to say more, but I am trying to wait to meet my new family to show them everything that I can do and say! I am a very good eater, it is one of my favorite things to do. I love vegetables, pellets and fruit and chop is REALLY good! I am a cockatoo though and I can sometimes be a little noisy, my foster Mom is working really hard to help me with when that is appropriate and when it is not, and also to help me be a little less anxious when she is out of my range of vision – but I will not be able to live in an apartment or condo, so please make sure you have a place where I can be a bit loud when I need to be. I would really like it if you would fill out an application and come and meet me really soon!
