TRISCUIT's Story...
This 7 month old arrived to our foster home on April 26th, weighing in at 20 pounds. From the moment Triscuit arrived, she has had her tail wagging and we could tell she was a great pup. Subdued but not frightened after her long journey, she was relaxed and alert in my lap for the car ride home. Once in the house, she greeted our dog with curiosity, but was more interested in the humans, wanting to get as close as possible and happiest being held. She cried briefly when we crated her for the night, but settled down and slept for almost 9 hours. This morning she was ready to explore the yard, chase a ball and even wrestle with our dog. When she got sleepy she napped in her crate, which, happily, she already seems to view as a safe place. She hasn't had an accident in the house all day

UPDATE: Triscuit is sleeping quietly in her crate all night, calmly waiting for us in the morning. She cheerfully joins in the rough and tumble play initiated by our dog, but also likes to be close to me, preferably in my lap. She will go to her crate and chew on a toy when she wants a break from the action. She seems to be a smart little girl, and hasn't had a single accident in the house since her first night here. And she is so, so sweet and people-focused. She did very well on our first stroll around the neighborhood yesterday, walking next to me on the leash as if she'd done it forever and greeting people and dogs with happy tail wagging. Triscuit will make a wonderful addition to someone's family.

UPDATE: Triscuit continues to be a wonderful pup. She is playful but not hyper, great with dogs (she hasn't met a cat yet) and super affectionate with people. She rarely barks, and has limited her chewing to toys and bones ( we keep the shoes behind closed doors.) We, and our dog, are completely enamored.

They are fostered out of the shelter at least two weeks or more prior to adopting to monitor health. We take their care seriously! Why Adoption is a Great Option

TRISCUIT, a West Milford Beagle puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Beagle for sale in West Milford, or seeking a Beagle puppy from a breeder in West Milford.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in West Milford already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a West Milford breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Beagle breeders who help with Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in West Milford paves the way for another one to be saved.
