My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there......are you looking for a wonderful companion........I am in a great foster home until I can be adopted to a forever home
I’m 6 years old, my name is Ginger and I am a real sweet, reddish cocker girl. I love attention and love. A nice family found me as a stray and tried to find my owner. When no owner was found, I ended up scared and in Animal Control. These rescue people came to save me and learned that I had mammary tumors that turned out to be very extensive. The vet said that I must have been a breeder dog that suffered neglect, as I tested heartworm positive, needed a dental, and I had mammary tumors so extensive on one side they all had to be removed. The results came back as benign, but the vet also removed the other side too, so that it would prevent any further issues.

After a short recovery from the surgery, I had my heartworm treatment done and did well with my recovery. I am eager to find my forever loving home........wouldn't you just love to have a sweet, cuddly baby girl to spend quality time with and love. I am dog and people social, and I really love attention and quality time with you. I follow my foster Dad like I am his shadow. When he leaves the room to go outside, I do have issues with separation anxiety and cry I will do best in a home with another dog social pal who would love a friendly, wonderful new buddy. I will also need a secure, fenced back yard area to do my business and spend time outside for awhile on a sunny day. My foster Mom is great, thinks I am very special and I get along well with her two cocker fur babies. She says I am like a sweet southern girl that is a Diamond In The Ruff.......as I blossom every day by showing her just how special I am. I am not aggressive at all and will wait my turn when she is giving us treats. At night, I sleep on the bed or I can sleep in my crate with a soft, cuddly bed and a door that is always left open. I will be a great addition to someone's family......I would love to meet you!
