Bio Update 5-23-2014 : Mattie is a senior yorkie being fostered in Grapevine, TX. Here is what she has to say: Hi all! Mattie here! I have been in my foster home for a month, and I am doing great! My foster family loves me, but I am looking for my own furever home. Here are the top ten reasons you should adopt a "golden girl" like me! 1. I am adorable! Or at least that is what FM says. You see, I had some dental work done and had to have 4 yucky teeth removed. I already had a
long tongue, but now it sticks out of my mouth all the time! FM says it makes me even cuter.
2. I do all my business outside! Yessiree, and evidently that is a big deal, because my foster brother has accidents, and FM sure gets tired of cleaning it up. 3. I am healthy! The dogtor said now that my yucky teeth are gone, I should live a long, carefree life. I do have an eye that gets oozy and dry but it is kept in check with drops twice a day. It is no big deal, and I hold real still while FM puts it in. 4. I love walks! I could be your fitness buddy! FM says you would never guess my age when I am on a walk because I run and frolic like a puppy. 5. I love everybody. While I probably would like my home to not have any little kids, I wouldn't mind visits if you have grandchildren or friends with children. 6. I am a good snuggler. I will sit with you while you watch tv, and sleep right at the foot of your bed. 7. I have a good appetite. I am not one of those finicky Yorkies. I eat good and really enjoy having a treat. 8. I am really easy to bathe or groom. I stand real still and don't put up a fight. 9. I love to ride in the car! If the car door is open, I jump right in and get really excited! 10. And last but not least, I have good manners. When FM calls I come running, and I follow directions. So now you can see why I am the perfect dog for you! Initial Bio 04/29/14 : Mattie is a senior yorkie who is being fostered in Grapevine, TX. She was surrendered by her family when they relocated. Her exact age is unknown, but the vet thinks she is around 12 years old. She weighs 9 pounds, but could stand to lose a little weight. She has chronic dry eye on her left side that has never been treated, and she has severe dental disease. She saw the vet on Monday, April 29th and we are trying some drops that may help stimulate tear production, and she has a dental cleaning scheduled on May 6th.
Mattie is such a sweet little girl; I hope her age doesn't hold people back. She is completely housebroken and when her coat grows out some, she will look so beautiful. She is such a love bug, and loves to snuggle ang give kisses. She also loves to be outside and lay in the sunshine.
She just needs a family to love and appreciate her. She would love a nice, quiet, calm home to spend her golden years. If you are looking for a special girl like Mattie, please drop us an email!
