My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sweeter than Glazed Brown Sugar with an Apple Bottom To Boot!

PSSSSSST! Hey?!! You! Look over here! My name is Jezzabell and I may be the cutest biscuit butt this side of the Mississippi! I recently came into rescue when my family couldn't afford to care for me any longer and surrendered me to their vet. Don’t be sad for me though. CEBR is so happy to have my in their care now. My vet said that CEBR is a really nice & smart group of people that know all about dogs like me. They are going to find me a top of the line family. I am almost 3 years old and thanks to the vet who helped get me to CEBR, I am completely up to date on all my necessary medical care, I’m spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, you name it.

I'm not just any dog you know, I am an English Bulldog. Some people call me an “Olde English Bulldogge.” I don’t know the difference but CEBR says that my variation is a little different than the traditional English that are fat, short and have snub noses. I’m a bit longer in the nose, and my color certainly is unique (and not standard to the English bulldog lineage. So they are pretty sure I am an Old English Bulldog. Just as perfect! My foster Momma says I am “Sweeter than Glazed Brown Sugar” or even “a Cotton Candy Doughnut”. I’ve never had either one of those things, but they sound delicious. I like to keep my girlish figure in check, but no matter what I do, my Apple Bottom remains! I just can’t shake it! I have been told, it is so cute, even Jennifer Lopez, should be jealous! LOOK OUT! I’ve got a swagger that will just melt your heart as I walk away from you. I know I am one of a kind and I am proud of it. Just meet me sometime, and you will know it’s true!

I am just a tad bit shy at first but will warm up to almost anyone. I don’t need jewels or all the toys in the world, but I do need lots of loving from my forever person or family. I am pretty laid back and I love to be with people and other dogs. When I can’t see my foster family or when they leave the room I sometimes get sad and cry. Good thing they don’t leave me alone too much! I like to keep my “soup bones & chew toys” in my “chamber” (crate). A girl like me has to keep track of her stuff you know! I like to relax in my space after I play outside or when I get tired. If you want my space to be on the couch or in the bed, I won’t argue with that either! I won’t have any accidents in the house or in my crate, as long as my humans will potty me often. I know they say Bulldogs don’t like to run a lot, but I can run very fast while playing fetch or Frisbee. Yes, I said, Frisbee. I have my own Kong Frisbee and I love to shake it after I chase it. I like to play a bit rough for a short period of time. Just long enough to burn off some energy and keep my curves just right. Tug-O-War anyone? But you know, exercise caution as bullies overheat so easily and I wouldn’t want to find myself in a medical pickle!

A long flight of stairs is something I am getting used to, but a few into or out of the house are perfect for now. I’ll learn though. I really love the jump from the ground into the car. Yes, I enjoy being chauffeured anywhere. I can be an excellent co-pilot until I just relax and fall asleep. I am a happy easy-going girl, so if you would rather save the environment and just leash me up, we can go for a leisurely stroll, and I am all about that too!

I don’t require too much work from my forever family, but there are some things I just can’t accomplish on my own. I like to stay super clean, so I will require my humans to bathe me often. If not, my allergies will flare up and I will be itchy. Oh and on the subject of cleanliness, I will need some help with my lady parts after I potty (every-time), since I don’t have thumbs to do it myself. Yes, we know this isn’t totally normal, but I am prone to urinary tract issues and have had multiple issues (probably because I have a few extra folds down there near my unmentionables). Because of that, a wipe with a baby wipe over those parts after a urinate will help keep future infections at bay!

So far I have been very accommodating to my foster family with all of their wishes and their maintenance of me. I have been on my best behavior. I tend to get a little stubborn when I know it’s about time for my people to leave me for a bit. I sometimes just lie down and play like a statue, but even then I will oblige them eventually (for a treat of course)! When they come back, I do a happy apple bottom wiggle dance! I like other dogs and have stayed overnight with a group of 4 others and they were so nice to me. I am pretty submissive around other dogs. Just an all-around nice girl!

Hope to meet you soon!

All my best! Jezzabell
