RUPERT's Story...
Rupert is a handsome Basset Hound with the cutest short legs and long floppy ears! He arrived to the shelter on 4/30/14 and sadly was not claimed. So now he's looking for a loving family to adopt him. Rupert is 9 years old and weighs 47 lbs. We are pretty confident to say he is housebroken as he will sing and dance when he needs to go out and will do his business right away. He's got a sweet temperament and would make a great little companion. He is current on his vaccines and upon adoption will be neutered, micro chipped and heartworm tested. Rupert's ID # is 565348 and he can be found in run 18.

When calling the shelter about a cat or dog, please use THE ID NUMBER, the names are oftentimes made up by volunteers. This beautiful pet and many others need a forever, loving home and are available for adoption from the Cobb County Animal Shelter, 1060 Al Bishop Drive Marietta, Georgia 30008, call (770) 499-4136 for more information.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

RUPERT, a Marietta Basset Hound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound for sale in Marietta, or seeking a Basset Hound dog from a breeder in Marietta.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Marietta already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Marietta breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound breeders who help with Basset Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Marietta paves the way for another one to be saved.
