Calvin's Info...

I am good with kids and not good with small animals.

Calvin's Story...
Calvin is approximately 14 months old so is still young. He is full of energy so needs a home with someone who will provide him with plenty of out-of-cage time so he can run his energy out. Calvin does get along with other males up to a point, but his hormones quickly kick in. The adoption fee for Calvin is $25.

For more information on Calvin, please contact his foster mom, Desiree, by calling 219-331-9889 or emailing dchristian@wheekersrescue.org

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Calvin, a Valparaiso Guinea Pig was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Guinea Pig for sale in Valparaiso, or seeking a Guinea Pig from a breeder in Valparaiso.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Valparaiso already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Valparaiso breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Guinea Pig breeders who help with Guinea Pig rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Valparaiso paves the way for another one to be saved.
