My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Chewy is a funny little teeny poodle boy! He is estimated to be 12 years old and weighs a whopping 9lbs, but could stand to gain a pound or two. He was an owner surrender to a high kill shelter and was surrendered with a large wound on his side. He has been all stitched up and is healed and he is ready to go to his new forever home. He has an old injury to one of his legs which gives him a hoppy like walk since his little knee in that leg wont bend. He also has cloudy eyes that are age related but he gets around pretty well. He has not had an easy life, that’s for sure, but he is such a happy boy! He wags his tail when you talk to him and he loves car rides. He is independent and doesn’t bark often unless he sees a big scary dog. He is very well housetrained. He likes to sleep in bed with you, but he is just as happy to sleep on a doggie bed. He ignores cats and gets along with all dogs. Despite his age, he is still very playful and likes to run around with other dogs and act like he is a young pup! He makes his foster mom laugh every day because he is a silly little guy and likes to stretch out and do doggie rolls on his bed. Chewy does not like peas and will pick them out of his food bowl. He likes watching TV especially Seinfeld, Frasier and The Golden Girls. Chewy is up to date on all vaccines including rabies, he is microchipped and is neutered. Because of his age and his leg, we would prefer a home for him with no small children. His adoption donation is $150.00. If you are interested in adding Chewy to your family then please email stmartinsanimalrescue@hotmail.com or leave a message at 503.857.5047 and ask for an adoption application.
