My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Tilly: 9 Months old, black & rust female, spayed, natural tail and ears, 13", 10 lbs, micro-chipped and shots up to date, rescued from shelter.

Tilly is a dog with spirit, given her rough journey. She likes to play, has lots of energy and responds to every moment with gusto. She stretches, listens, smells, and wonders what is going on, with all of her small frame and curious mind. She is profoundly loving and loves to cuddle in bed and with someone on the couch - truly loyal and communal at every turn. Her ears perk up, she bounces and looks like a Meerkat when she stands on her hind legs. Tilly was born in December of 2013 with a congenital heart defect, which will require medication for the rest of her life, yet this has not slowed her down not one bit! She will also need annual check ups with a pet cardiologist, preferably at UC Davis with her regular doctor who is terrific. In spite of all she's been through, Tilly handles herself with humor, dignity, grace and a zest for life that is truly inspirational and addicting. Tilly is definitely an eye catcher every where we go and everyone just has to touch her soft and silky coat.
Tilly is crate trained and house trained using a dog door and could be easily re-trained on potty pads. Tilly has also learned all basic commands with, sit, stay, back, down, off and come. She could learn so much more with treat motivation. She is an excellent car rider and loves to take short walks on leash. Tilly much prefers having another playful dog in the household. Tilly loves children of most ages, but Toddlers are not her favorite, but she is very tolerant and patient with these younger ones. Apartment living may not be the best for Tilly as she would need indoor/outdoor access at all times to exercise those long petite legs unless you can offer her a patio for stretching, sunbathing and potty.
Tilly would be a great addition to any home looking for a dog that will brighten up a house and add a spirit of readiness and adventure. Just remember she is still a puppy with an astounding amount of activity and as she grows it will slow down gradually. If thou are the kind of family that can give her these things she needs, then Tilly is waiting and ready..... please contact her foster mom. Don't let her be the one that got away.....
