Peter Pan, 4 year young male staffie mix- It was tears of happiness for Peter, when finally after living in an overcrowded shelter for 2 years, he was adopted 2 months ago. But now its changed to sorrow, as yesterday he was returned through no fault of his own. Sadly his owner's landlord changed his mind, and said Peter had to go. And now he is back at the shelter, where he has already spent....most of his life- waiting....for his turn at forever.
Peter adores children, he's fine with other dogs, and a home without cats is preferred.
Let's not let him wait any longer- please share his story, and let's find Peter...the miracle he deserves. CONTACT 631-286-4940, or email aboyd@brookhaven.org

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Peter Pan :-), a Smithtown American Staffordshire Terrier/Boxer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Staffordshire Terrier/Boxer for sale in Smithtown, or seeking a American Staffordshire Terrier/Boxer dog from a breeder in Smithtown.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Smithtown already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Smithtown breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Staffordshire Terrier/Boxer breeders who help with American Staffordshire Terrier/Boxer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Smithtown paves the way for another one to be saved.
