Meet Choco! He likes to follow people around. He is a people pleaser. He rubs up against you for a good scratch and will nudge you to get pet. He is an explorer. Choco likes squeaker toys and playing with balls. He will sometimes throw it up in the air for himself. It is so cute to watch! Very entertaining! He is fun and sweet and he loves kids! They love him too! He would be great for an active family. He loves exploring, hiking in the woods, walking and jogging. He loves attention and is a happy dog. He acts as if he may have hunted before being found as a stray. he likes to play bait and retrieve. Choco also loves to swim, just like a typical Lab. Does Choco sound like the perfect dog for your family - fill out an adoption application and he could be your newest member of the family.

Unless otherwise indicated, all Double Dog Rescue dogs have received the following before being available for adoption:
Thorough veterinary examination
All routine annual vaccinations, including Rabies, DHLPP, Bordatella (kkennel cough), Heartworm Test, Fecal Test, Deworming
Spay/Neuter
All dogs are quarantined for two weeks outside of the shelter (puppies four weeks) to ensure they don't break with disease.
If any dog shows any signs of disease or ailment, DDR vets the dog until he or she has a clean bill of health to the best of our knowledge. This includes anything from being treated for Heartworm, Broken Leg, Cherry Eye, Torn ACL, Upper Respiratory etc.)
NOTE: Dogs who were treated for Heartworm can test positive up to 4-6 months after last treatment. All dogs are immediately put on Heartguard/Ivermectin following the treatment to kill the Heartworm larvae. All dogs should be re-tested after 4 months from the last Heartworm treatment.
