My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We would like to explain that if you are looking for a perfect dog, they are rarely found in rescue. Our dogs often have unknown histories and we do our very best to evaluate each dog with kids, cats, and other dogs as well as determine how they behave in a home. It is important to understand that we have some specific criteria for each dog based on their backgrounds and input from their foster families. The purpose of these criteria is to better match each dog with an appropriate family. While a certain dog might appeal to you based on breed, size, gender or appearance, you may not match the listed criteria. Please understand that we are not trying to make adoption difficult—we are trying to make each adoption successful for the dog and the new family.

If you have children, we suggest that prior to applying for a dog, you view the website http://www.livingwithkidsanddogs.com. The information is excellent and can help you determine which dog would be right for your family.
Watson is a bloodhound mix puppy who was rescued from a local impound. He is just six months old and already 47 pounds. Watson is a well socialized, happy puppy who just loves everyone he meets. He loves to play with other dogs, gets along well with cats and is good with kids of any age if supervised of course. This pup is going to be a good boy and he will do best with a large fenced yard—that bloodhound nose is built for tracking interesting things like chipmunks, rabbits and even people. This breed needs a lot of exercise and can walk for hours, but when they are young it’s important not to stress their bones which don’t completely mature until they are 1.5 to 2 years old. Watson is crate trained and he is doing very well on his house training. If you are looking for a big lovable puppy, this is your dog! Watson is with Happy Hound Rescue, a local 501c3 nonprofit all volunteer rescue. He has been spayed, had his first heartworm pill, distemper shots and rabies shots and a HomeAgain microchip. His adoption fee is $300.00.
