Lucas's Story...
"Hello, all of you nice people! My name is LUCAS, and I'm a one-and-a-half-year-old Shih Tzu whom everyone says is "practically perfect in every way." My owner had to give me up because he didn't have time for me, but I'm confident that there's a person or family out there who'll see my great qualities, then I'll have myself a new, loving home. Let me tell you a bit about myself. I'm happy, clever, and affectionate. I make friends easily and I love everyone, so I'd be a wonderful family pet. I get along well with other dogs, too. As you can see, I hate to brag, but did you also notice how very cute I am? I enjoy going for walks, and I especially like to snuggle. I'm a loyal and courageous little fellow, so I'm quite certain that we'll become best buddies very quickly. I've already been house trained, and I know how to sit on command. I'm such a good boy! Please come visit me at the El Cajon Animal Shelter so that we can spend some time getting to know each other better in the great play yard that they have here. I hope you'll come soon, as I've been dreaming about a new home, and I'd love it if you could make my dreams come true. Love, Lucas" Kennel #9

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lucas, a El Cajon Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu for sale in El Cajon, or seeking a Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in El Cajon.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in El Cajon already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a El Cajon breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu breeders who help with Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in El Cajon paves the way for another one to be saved.
