Hello, my name is Sunny. I am in my early 20’s and I am a beautiful blue front amazon. My Mom had to go live in a nursing home and I was boarded at a veterinarian hospital for a really long time before the people at Florida Parrot Rescue heard about me and came to get me. I was in a cage for so long by myself that people - especially women - make me very nervous. I really want to be loved on by you, but I am sometimes a little afraid, and I really need someone who understands this and is willing to spend a lot of time gaining my trust and helping me to come out of my shell. I have recently taken to coming out of my cage and walking around on the floor, which I really like, and I am finally starting to let people give me some head scritches – those are really nice and I like them, but please go slow! I do like to talk some, I can say “Hello” and “I love you”. I would really love to have a home of my own where my companions are quiet, understanding, and patient. Could that be you?

An avian veterinarian has properly vetted all birds before they are placed up for adoption. Adoption fees include the bird’s cage IF the bird has a cage - most do, but please ask!
