My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Miss Myrtle is an 8 year old female beagle mix. This poor girl was dumped at an already over- crowded rural pound. She suffered from years of untreated skin infections, but with care and medication, her fur has grown back. She has a very sweet personality. She needs a very loving home and is an attention gal. She is good with cats, house trained, crate trained, rides well in a car, walks well on a leash. She is trustworthy in a home and does not need to be crated when alone. She is not destructive. She does well with other dogs. She is a dominant personality so would be best not to be placed with another dominant female. Her foster home now consists of small, medium and large dogs; both female and male. She is a quiet gal and needs more attention than being one of a pack. She will snuggle in your lap and she listens very well. She is a pleaser
When she first came to us, the pound had her listed as 10 to 12. Our veterinarian during spay and exam, does not feel she is that old. He feels she is more likely around 7 to 9 years old max. She did also have a hernia which once palpated went back into place. She has a small non malignant tumor on her tail that could not be removed without a complete amputation. This just adds to her uniqueness.
