My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Peyton is a gorgeous 2 year old German Shepherd that weighs about 65 lbs. He is a wonderful dog that is intelligent, submissive and affectionate. Peyton enjoys his walks and running around the yard, but is generally mellow when inside the house and loves taking long naps. He is wonderful with children, other dogs and is cautious around cats. He also loves the elderly and has visited a nursing home where he was gentle and gracious. This boy would make an excellent therapy dog. He is perfectly house-trained and doing well with crate training, but should not be left free to roam the house during the day as he may chew or have an accident. Peyton wants to follow you everywhere with his tail wagging. He does not like to be alone but is comforted by the presence of other dogs, so he needs a home where he can have a buddy to hang out with when his people are gone. He would prefer a home with a person who can spend lots of time with him, and would love to have a fenced yard to run and play in safely. Peyton is doing well with walking on a leash. He is loyal, friendly with visitors and does not bark unless he is 'alerting' his people. His foster mom thinks he may have a little Husky in him because of his high pitched howl! He listens well when corrected, comes when called and he does not jump or counter surf. He is not a good traveler and drools and gets sick in the car at the moment, so life on the road is not the life for him. For the Shepherd lovers out there, Peyton is the total package. His foster mom is completely in love with him because he is so easy to have around, and would keep him herself if she did not already have two large dogs. He will make a wonderful companion for any family and is currently being fostered in southern NH. He is neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccines. ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED.
