My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! My name is Jimi! I am a seven year old, 20 pound, black beauty. I am the poster dog for a happy, loving, devoted companion and I absolutely love to be by my people. When my foster mom works in the office, I quietly lay right at her feet. If she is busy I find a nearby chair or rug to quietly observe and maybe even nap a bit. But if she’s on the couch, I am right there ready to snuggle in close. When it’s time for sleep, I just have to be told to get in bed and I get in my own crate and snooze peacefully all night. I am a biggie Iggy and larger than my foster siblings. I have easily settled in as the temporary pack leader of the house, although not in an aggressive way at all. I’m just bigger than everyone else. (Temporary because I am so eager to find MY forever home!) And if you think I just might be the one you want to love forever, let me seal the deal by demonstrating my awesome skills. Commands that I know are: sit, lay down, roll over, go potty, get in your bed, time for a walk and high five. I get so excited when I see my foster family get my leash. Yippee, I know it’s time for a walk! I hear all of my foster family say how well I walk on a leash. I had a couple of accidents the first day I arrived at my foster home, but once I figured out the routine my foster mom says I have excellent potty skills. She says that I am the perfect combination of old and young… I am light-hearted and ready to play at a moment’s notice yet I display the wisdom of an older Iggy because I am laid back and so easy to love. I would do well in a home with other dogs because I do love to play and nap with my foster siblings. I do get a little nervous around younger children but am usually fine once the humans show me there is nothing to worry about. And if it’s not too much to ask, I would love to not be left home for long periods of time each day. Like I said before, I love to be by my people! I can't wait to meet you so that you will fall in love with me. I promise, you will!
