My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Flower Girl

HBHR is pleased to introduce you to Flower. She is a very small, delicate and young at heart, 6-7 year old female who is as sweet and gentle as she is adorable. Flower was found walking down a highway in Waco, with no tags, chip or collar. She was 13 pounds and starving and dirty. You could see her spine. We brought her to Houston, provided her with excellent medical care, and she is now healthy and holding at a perfect 19 pounds for her little frame.

Of course, we don’t know where Flower spent her former life, but we do know that currently her most favorite activities are rolling in the grass (now that she knows what grass is) and going for walks (now that she knows what the leash is for). She is crate trained at her foster home, but probably would be OK to be loose in the house at a new home, once she is acclimated to her new surroundings.

We also know that Flower loves to be with other dogs, but is very, very timid around all humans (including Foster Mom and her grand-children). Flower needs a relatively quiet home with a backyard sufficient for running Beagle “happy laps” (that her foster brother taught her) and with another dog or two that will play and snuggle with her. Apartments and young children are not recommended in her case.

Flower has made a lot of progress in her foster home. She needs a special adoptive Mom and/or Dad who are patient and willing to take on a bound-to-be- rewarding “project”, otherwise known as a labor of love!!
