Are you looking for a friend? If you are, I could sure use one. My name is Jacey and lo and behold I find myself in need of a home at 6 years old. My family loved their dogs dearly but life got in the way and they had to bring all four of us back to Animatch, where we were all adopted. The Animatch Centre is very nice and Helen and all the Volunteers are really trying to make me feel welcome but it’s not like having your own home. It’s hard to get any peace and quiet when there are so many puppies running through the place like they are racing in the Indy 500. At six years old, I am a mature girl who knows how to relax. I do love to go for long walks – of course, after you’ve finished your coffee and read your newspaper. In fact, it is very important for me to get a good walk every day since we Poodles are very intelligent and don’t like to be bored. I do know what it takes to get along in a family and become part of a pack. People say that you can’t teach an older dog new tricks, but I pretty much know them all! I’ve learned most of life’s lessons – shoes are for walking and bones are for chewing. You might be worried that you won’t have as much time with me as you would a young dog. But just think of how happy you would be to know that you have given me my furever home. Just like humans, mature dogs like me need love too! I certainly don’t care how old you are, if you don’t care how old I am. What you see is what you get ... me, a dog who will love you with all my heart. So, what do you say?
