Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hello, I'm Athena! My foster parents call me Athy for short and I respond to both. I'm a rather large black and rust dobie with cropped ears and a docked tail, weighing in around 100 pounds! I just turned 4 in February so I am over the puppy phase of my life and a am a happy go lucky dobie! I could stand to lose a few more pounds but I don't think I need to lose more than 10 pounds! In my previous life, I had a brother from the same litter that I grew up with so I'm looking for a new BFF. I would do best with another large dog but I'm also good with smaller dogs too! I listen to the leader of my foster pack, a dominate female spaniel. I need an experienced dobie owner who has experience with integrating the household as I can initially have some resource guarding relating to toys and food at first around the other dogs in the house. I've never shown any aggression towards my foster parents when they tested me with food and toys! I may or may not try to make myself comfortable on the bed or sofa when you are around...or not around...but those are my only bad habits in the house! I have not counter surfed, bugged the resident parakeets, or stolen anything that wasn't given to me. I prefer to have some roaming capabilities in the house, so I may jump a gate. I have a moderate energy level, heck after playing for 20 minutes last night, I was snoozin' at my foster parents' feet! I need some work on the lead but know sit and down. In the past 3 weeks, I have learned wait (for food) and shake. I'm so smart! I can't wait to get some more obedience work in! Please email my foster parents today so you can come meet me. I'm ready to have my people in my life again! I promise to love you and lean into you!
