My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Our foster dogs live as family members in the foster home until chosen for adoption. You can contact her foster mom, Michelle by emailing mishellefrench@gmail.com for more information on how she can become part of your family

Edelweiss needs a new home.

Sweet Hope (the mom) came to us as a stray April 1 in horrible shape. She had an infection, horrible mange, and had signs of long-term severe malnutrition, and was pregnant. The vets all despaired that her puppies would survive, but miraculously, three days later, 8 beautiful white puppies were born and they are healthy and thriving!

Momma Hope is rather ugly at the moment due to her hair loss, but she makes up for her poor looks by her incredibly sweet disposition and her intelligence. She is a wonderful dog—once she is healthy, we can’t imagine a better one! She has been a great mom to her babies and has taught them to play nicely with each other, with other dogs, and with people of all sizes. They have inherited her sweet, affectionate, snuggly personality and are as smart and as eager to please their humans as she is.

There are five females and three males. All are white, with slightly different markings, especially on their little noses. Pit puppies are some of the smartest around—these little ones are well on their way to being potty trained already! Their personalities are starting to become evident—their foster family will help you pick the right puppy for your family based on energy level and personality. The puppies will be ready spayed or neutered, microchipped, and will get some vaccines and then will be ready for their new homes at the end of May. Their adoption fees is $20 each. Yes, just twenty dollars!

To apply to adopt one of Hope’s babies, please fill out an application. We cannot arrange meetings unless an application is filled out and approved. Once applications are approved, we will schedule a meet and greet when the exact puppy can be reserved before their surgeries. We promised Hope we would find great homes for each of her puppies. If one of those homes is yours, fill out an application!

Please help us find Edelweiss her forever home!

You can contact her foster mom, Michelle by emailing mishellefrench@gmail.com for more information on how she can become part of your family.

Don't forget to complete an adoption application. Go to http://shelteredpaws.com/docs/Adoption_App_Form_2010.doc to download an Adoption Form Questionnaire. Upon completion, email the application back to spdr.app@shelteredpaws.com .
