My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

There could not be a more loving or cuddly pup than our Rocky. He does need a moment to assess..and be given the space to trust and bond...and then it's a lick and a wag. Rocky's experience at a very high-kill Texas shelter was very scary...but he's safe now and learning the wonderful feeling of being respected and cared about. This truly adorable guy...one ear up and one ear flopped over couldn't be cuter...sort of a silly and comical look. Rocky truly appreciates gentle touches and a kind voice...and a treat doesn't hurt either. Once you're there, he's a guy who's bonded for life. His family would ideally consist of active retiree(s) or a family with older kids who are very loving and will establish clear boundaries for this youngster. Rocky would love nothing more than to be with his family in every situation. He would be a wonderful exercise companion and would warm your lap indefinitely when it's time for quiet moments on the couch. At about 8 months old and 22 lbs, Rocky could be a long-term companion that would be very portable to take along on trips and adventures. His joy lies in his adult companions...he likes children but needs the time and patience to understand their quicker movements and louder voices. Rocky feels great about his relationships with other dogs...he just needs a second to make sure that all is OK. A quiet, yet active and predictable lifestyle would be perfect for this adorable little companion. Rocky would be a champ on the trails..he would be overjoyed by the exercise and just being outside in the sunshine. And then at the end of the day..you can pretty much count on Rocky to jump into bed to snuggle before a night's sleep. Rocky appears to be a non-shedding guy and would therefore require periodic grooming and great nutrition to keep his coat healthy, soft and matt-free.
Rocky is being fostered in Denver. Applications are being accepted and Meet & Greets being set up for this sweet and just exceptional companion.
