My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Keegan is a 12 months old male red and white smooth coated Border Collie with beautiful amber eyes.  Keegan came to us via the Bakersfield area.  He was dumped on a ranch with a Chihuahua buddy and was then transferred to the shelter.  Keegan is leash trained and we are working on basic obedience commands.  He has not been evaluated  with cats or children.  Keegan is a soft and submissive male who is very affectionate.  He is a gem of a dog who is looking to forge that special bond with his forever person.  He is well socialized with other dogs as he gets along well with other BCIN foster dogs.  Keegan’s energy level at this point appears to be medium, but, as he settles in and gets more comfortable, he might have need a more active home.  Keegan has had a lot to process, so he can be a bit shy upon meeting him, but he will instantly warm up to you for some loving.  He lacks confidence, therefore, he will need a person who understands timid BC behavior and is willing to work with him with a consistent routine and schedule.  Keegan would be best suited in a home that is quieter, has had previous BC experience, and knows positive reinforcement training.
