Burrito's Story...
This little boy is as sweet as he is cute … but he needs a patient parent to work with him and help coax him out of his shell. Burrito is about a year old. He LOVES other dogs, is playful and inquisitive with a gentle nature. But Burrito (Burt, as I call him) is scared of people.

In the several weeks that I've had him, he has made great progress with me. He sneaks up on the couch with me in the evenings and snuggles in to get petted. He sleeps at the foot of the bed at night and (finally) kennels up on his own in the morning to get his treat before I go to work. But any sudden movement scares him and he takes off running. I've had to leave his leash on him to help me catch him and reel him in. Once I've caught him, he's perfectly content and will sit with me on the couch and soak up attention.
He absolutely loves the other dogs, follows them around, learns from them, naps with them and engages them in play. And even though Burt is scared of people, he is totally submissive with not a a mean bone in his little body.
When Burt learns to trust his parent, it will be a tight bond and you will have a very cute, fun, funny, sweet and loyal little companion.
Secure fenced yard and other dog(s) in the home a must for Burrito.

Fence/enclosed patio required for most dogs. We check your vet reference and fence. Dogs are current on vaccinations, HW negative, micro chipped, dental if needed and spayed/neutered. Email lldogrescue@yahoo.com for quickest response.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Burrito, a Shawnee Mission Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Shawnee Mission, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Shawnee Mission.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Shawnee Mission already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Shawnee Mission breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Shawnee Mission paves the way for another one to be saved.
