Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Chico is a very sweet and loving dog who appears to at one point have had an attentive and loving owner. Chico loves to cozy up and sit or sleep with his person. Chico is not really interested in having any other animal friends. Although he is currently in a foster home with other cats and dogs, he does not want to interact with them. If they get too close and crowd him he will give a warning growl, bark and snap. If other animals steer clear of him then he could live in a home with other animals. He could exist in a house with cats, but they will most likely never be friends.
Chico appears to have had a rough time of it lately and probably has been abused at some point in his life. He seems to be quite leery of men but warms up after they show that he is not in any danger.
We received Chico from Animal Control where we were told that he had been previously adopted. The previous adopters apparently came back to the pound, threw him down one of the aisles and ran out without any explanation at all.
Chico is approximately 7 years old, current on his shots, tested negative for heart worm, and appears to be quite healthy. He weighs 13 pounds. He just had a dental cleaning and no longer has stinky breath.
