ADOPTED ON 11-22-14 - Dragging yourself to the door your stomach rumbles and grumbles as you picture the bland frozen burrito you’re going to nuke for dinner. Your ankles are sore; you have a dull headache after your traffic-jam ride home from a long day at work. Yeah, the day got you down, the day knocked you out, but suddenly you unlock the door and your mood zooms sky-high as there’s a loving dog waiting for you. Her tail is wagging and she feels compelled to carry her toys in her mouth—such a cute habit. She is proud of the toy in her mouth when she comes enthusiastically toward you, it may be her way of telling you ''Hey, look what I got for you!"

That is Quinn, she is the first one that greets everyone and wants to get your attention—she wants to give you a full day of affection in 1 minute. She is devoted to those that take care of her and she wants to make sure that she lets you know how much she appreciates your companionship. Quinn is the kind of dog that will be your buddy, she likes dogs but it is obvious that she loves humans. Her mom says she is just a real good dog that loves life and kids—as long as the kids are respectful of how they treat animals. She loves to snuggle and be the center of attention.

Quinn you see loves to love…. and hopes someone else will love her as much!

Quinn eyes are the first thing that you become aware of about her but it is her sweetness that you notice and that is what will melt your heart. She is a dog that is a true joy to be around, it is obvious that she has that typical Flat Coat personality and she just wants to please in every way. She is very devoted to people and she craves human attention and wants to be as close as he possibly can be to them.

Like so many of the rescue dogs that are found, Quinn, her mother and 4 other siblings were found dumped on a rural road near the woods the first week of March. They looked to have been surviving on their own for a week or more. The pups were thought to be about 8-9 wks old when they were found by a rescue angel. Their health was already starting to take a toll on their little bodies, they were wormy and emaciated. They are all not in the loving home and care of her rescuer.

Quinn and her siblings are already showing the signs of their breed. Her foster dad has noticed that she is “just a real good dog”. Even at this young age, they listen and come when they are called and their foster family feels that they are really special dogs that were meant to be saved. Unlike most puppies, they told us that Quinn and her siblings are relatively calm in comparison to other puppy litters. Recently they have been around little children and true to their breed, are just tremendously loving and gentle with them.

Quinn loves to run and play with her siblings and she warmed up to her foster mom rather quickly. She was slightly cautious at first but warmed up after a pet and an ear scratching She gets lots of play time with her with her siblings and follows behind our ATV in the evenings. She gets along with her siblings and does well with her foster brothers and sisters dogs. She does great with kids and has been around kids quite often. She might be a large dog; her mother is about an 80lbs dog.

If you have an urge to have an instant best friend that is always glad to see you and easily maintained, you really should give this wonderful girl a look. Quinn just needs someone who will love her and give her the attention she deserves.

ABOUT THE BREED
Height: 22 - 23 inches (56 - 58 cm)
Weight: 60 - 70 pounds (27 - 32 kg)

The Flat-Coated Retriever is excellent with children and a great family dog with a reliable temperament. Friendly, sweet and high-spirited, it loves everyone, even strangers. It has a puppy-like attitude and always appears to be in good spirits. It loves to play and retrieve, and with enough exercise it will be quiet indoors, saving the activity for the outside. It is an intelligent, loyal companion. This very sociable breed gets along well with dogs and other pets.

About Our Rescue

These dogs deserve all of our attention, and in Rescue Dog Village, we are committed to our adopters and our dogs equally. We offer full disclosure and hope to make the best matches possible. Please know our adoption fees never cover our expenses. We rely on the generosity of our adopters and supporters to help us help the dogs.

Our rescue is ONLY in the business of offering FULL DISCLOSURE to adopters, and expects and hopes to engage your questions and concerns fully. We owe it to the dogs we rescue and all the wonderful families/adopters who might consider welcoming our charges into their hearts and home. Our dogs are waiting for that ideal forever home where they will be cherished as deserving family members. It's sad these second chances are even necessary for these dogs, but we are committed to them and will devote the time and energy to their rehoming, and not just MOVE them to save more dogs. We diligently and responsibly seek good matches as we don't want to re-home the dog again. These animals have already endured more than they should have, and through no fault of their own. It behooves us to be honest and forthright, and we appreciate the same in return from applicants. It's that winning combination of reciprocal trust and respect that allows for successful placements to be made. Happy adopters translate to happy dogs, and that's our goal!

Our rescue volunteers will be more than honored to be in touch with you directly and promptly, after receiving your application and conducting a mandatory a veterinarian check. If you have never owned a dog before, please submit your application regardless, and we will be in touch with you as soon as possible. TAKE NOTE YOU SHOULD CHECK YOUR SPAM AS SOME RESPONSES FROM US WIND UP THERE WE'VE DISCOVERED. Also, take care to contact your veterinarian to let them know a member of rescue will be inquiring about your pet history!

Thank you for respecting that we all donate our time to saving these animals, and understand we value your philanthropic and compassionate desire to help be part of the rescue team. That said, you'll understand why we are committed to the well-being of our charges and consider this veterinarian check mandatory. If you are a first-time dog owner, we will work with you every step of the way! ADVOCACY AND EDUCATION ARE AS MUCH A PART OF RESPONSIBLE RESCUE AS ADOPTION! And it takes a RESCUE VILLAGE to help the most dogs possible in a thorough manner to ensure success on all fronts, and then some! It is an awful feeling to fail a dog, and we can't continue rescue if we don't do everything we can to ensure good matches for the dogs and tender families who might adopt them. THANK YOU FOR UNDERSTANDING.

Although we are an extremely small rescue group, we understand and respect your family's eagerness to be in touch and learn as much as you can about the dogs you are considering adopting. Our very experienced and devoted trainer will be happy to share all aspects of OUR RESCUE DOGS to determine compatibility once you've submitted your application, and another of our volunteers will explain the whole process of our rescue and answer any questions you might have as well

If you have the time and love to offer this extremely bright dog who can make you laugh for hours at his antics, PLEASE APPLY TO BE CONSIDERED FOR A RESCUE DOG VILLAGE DOG AND GIVE ONE A HOME. Our dogs deserve all that a committed family can offer. Make no mistake about it, this is one spectacular dog!

Please contact RescueDogVillage@yahoo.com and we will be happy to return your correspondence, but please submit the application now so we can have that information as a starting base for our dialogue.

THANK YOU FOR CONSIDERING RESCUE AS A MEANS OF WELCOMING YOUR NEXT FOUR-LEGGED FRIEND INTO YOUR LIFE!

ALL interested adopters MUST complete an application; agree to a vet reference check, phone interview and home visit. ALL family members MUST be in attendance for home visits - no exceptions. This helps us get to know everyone in the family so that we can help find the right dog for you.
