Tess is called - The Best Dog In The House. This little peanut has free roam of the entire shelter. Little Miss Velcro Pup sticks close and will follow you anywhere. She is beyond loyal, and beyond happy to be alive. Things looked grim when Tess first entered the shelter. She had mange and she wasn't the cutest puppy on the block. She would hold her head down as if she was ashamed of her looks. We always told her she was a pretty girl despite her appearance. It was that photo that tugged at the our heartstrings and we just needed to save her. So we had her treated and she is ready to go to her new forever home! Now she prances around the place like a little princess. She's a confident little girl and welcomes everyone into her life with open paws. Could you be the one to give this sweet little girl the new home and love she so deserves? She will give it back to you - twofold. Please fill out an adoption application today.

Unless otherwise indicated, all Double Dog Rescue dogs have received the following before being available for adoption:
Thorough veterinary examination
All routine annual vaccinations, including Rabies, DHLPP, Bordatella (kkennel cough), Heartworm Test, Fecal Test, Deworming
Spay/Neuter
All dogs are quarantined for two weeks outside of the shelter (puppies four weeks) to ensure they don't break with disease.
If any dog shows any signs of disease or ailment, DDR vets the dog until he or she has a clean bill of health to the best of our knowledge. This includes anything from being treated for Heartworm, Broken Leg, Cherry Eye, Torn ACL, Upper Respiratory etc.)
NOTE: Dogs who were treated for Heartworm can test positive up to 4-6 months after last treatment. All dogs are immediately put on Heartguard/Ivermectin following the treatment to kill the Heartworm larvae. All dogs should be re-tested after 4 months from the last Heartworm treatment.
