My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Oakley is a six year old male ix. He weighs about 60-lb. He is a very gentle fellow, and gets along well with other dogs. He loves his little buddy, Onyx. When they get a treat Oakley will gobble his down, but Onyx (being much smaller) takes much more time to process her treat. Oakley will not interfere with her when she eats. If Onyx gets the treat first, Oakley will wait patiently for his treat, leaving Onyx to eat hers in peace. Oakley has arthritis in both hips. The knee cap on his right rear leg is also dislocated. Most of the time he walks and runs using all four legs, but occasionally he will lift his right rear leg and navigate on three legs for a few steps. We do not believe that he is in pain, as he walks and runs almost normally…even when running up or down hill. He can jump up on his bed with ease. He does struggle a bit on hardwood floors, and he often waits to me to help him navigate across such floors. I have placed some area rugs on the floor for him so that he can move more easily around the house. I took Oakley to my vet for an independent assessment of Oakley’s arthritic hips situation. My vet speculated that Oakley’s hip problems are probably due to being hit by a car at some point in his life. He also agreed that Oakley does not appear to be in pain. We would love to see Oakley find a forever home to love him as his foster dad does! Please, you MUSTpaste following link into your browser BEFORE emailing for further information.
