Mama G's Story...
Mama G was part of a collaborative rescue effort in Fallon, NV that saved 31 horses from purchase by a slaughter buyer. Mama G arrived at AAE on March 17, 2014. She was in very poor, emaciated condition and believed to be pregnant. With a supple refeeding program, she bounced back relatively quickly. Thought to be a younger mare by the auction rescue team, she turns out to be a late teens/20-ish mare. She is amazingly sweet, and craves human attention. She offers the most expressive gratitude for any grooming and love. If she could purr like a cat, the motor would be running the moment she laid eyes on a person. That being said, she has a bit of a stubborn streak, too. She may have a riding history, but that's yet to be explored. Ultrasound determined there was no foal. Her teeth were in poor condition, but now on the way back to good health. She is current with vaccines, deworming, and dental, but she has yet have her hooves trimmed.

Adoption fee subject to change based on training. Please see website for current information.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mama G, a El Dorado Hills Quarterhorse was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Quarterhorse for sale in El Dorado Hills, or seeking a Quarterhorse from a breeder in El Dorado Hills.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in El Dorado Hills already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a El Dorado Hills breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Quarterhorse breeders who help with Quarterhorse rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in El Dorado Hills paves the way for another one to be saved.
